Now that Kamala Harris has tapped Tim Walz to be her running mate, voters can begin to predict which policies will become her priorities if she wins the presidency. Yahoo Finance Washington Correspondent Ben Werschkul breaks down how the Harris-Walz Administration could differ from the Biden-Harris Administration on the latest episode of Capitol Gains.
According to Werschkul, there are three major points of interest where a Harris-Walz administration could break away from the current administration: the care economy, trade, and business. As Governor of Minnesota, Walz has made the child tax credit and paid family leave priorities. They are likely to continue to be priorities for him and Harris if they win. Walz has also been vocal about how tariffs affect farmers in the rural districts of Minnesota that he represents, which could inform the administration's stance on trade. Finally, Werschkul says that Harris has signaled in recent weeks that she could be more friendly to business than the current administration.
